Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, known as Davido, celebrated his uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election in Osun State, characterizing the victory as a hard-won "war" against formidable political opponents. Speaking to journalists at his country home after the August 15 election, Davido congratulated the governor and highlighted the intense opposition his uncle faced.

Davido expressed deep emotion witnessing the election day events, stating, "I can’t remember how many times I cried that day because the love was massive." He believes his uncle's victory serves as a crucial lesson for political leaders nationwide, demonstrating that genuine service to the people garners their support. "My uncle should be an example to all other people out there. It shows all other governors out there that if you work for the people, the people will be with you and God," he added.

Beyond his political advocacy, Davido revealed plans to intensify his engagement in youth and sports development within Osun State. As the chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund, he had postponed several initiatives until after the governorship election. He mentioned plans for a recreation center featuring football pitches, swimming pools, and basketball courts to provide young people with opportunities to develop and showcase their sporting talents.
