Adeleke to Workers: Mobilise Everyone to Vote This Saturday and Defend Your Votes

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on all state workers to rally their families and friends to vote massively on Saturday and protect their ballots, emphasizing the need for continuity in governance. He praised the labor leadership and workers for their support during his administration.

In a separate statement, Adeleke alleged that former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola harbors jealousy towards the Adeleke family and opposes his re-election. He suggested Oyinlola has a history of resenting members of the Adeleke family.

Oyinlola was against my re-election out of jealousy.

Meanwhile, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the Tinubu administration against militarizing the Osun election or using state institutions for partisan gain. Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele advised stakeholders to prioritize peaceful and credible polls, stating that voters, not federal power, will determine the election's outcome.

Accord Party's presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, warned those inciting violence, suggesting they could face consequences at The Hague. The Accord Party also appealed to the European Union for diplomatic intervention due to rising political tensions in Osun State. Additionally, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) expressed concern over alleged plans to arrest its National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, before the election.
