Adeleke wins Osun governorship election, securing 19 local governments

Governor Ademola Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, has emerged victorious in the state's governorship election, winning 19 out of the 30 local governments. The results were officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the State Collation Centre in Osogbo on Sunday morning.

Adeleke's main opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured wins in the remaining 11 local governments. The announcement detailed the vote counts for each local government area, showing Adeleke's Accord Party consistently leading in a majority of the districts.

Detailed results released by INEC showed Accord Party's strong performance across various local governments, including Olorunda, Ejigbo, Ife South, Olaolowa, Isokan, Ayedaade, Egbedore, Atakumosa East, Aiyedire, Ila, Ede North, Iwo, Ifelodun, Ife East, Odo-Otin, Oriade, Osogbo, Orolu, Obokun, Irepodun, Ife Central, Bolorunduro, Ede South, Ife North, Ilesa West, Ifedayo, Ilesa East, and Irepodun.

While the APC candidate, Oyebamiji, won in several local governments such as Ejigbo, Ife South, and Olaolowa, the overall tally of local government victories clearly favored Adeleke, confirming his win in the governorship race.
