Adriana Baravalle is the new Secretary of Innovation, replacing Darío Genua

The government has appointed Dr. Adriana Baravalle as the new Secretary of Innovation, succeeding Darío Genua. The decision was finalized by Chief of Staff Diego Santilli, who selected Baravalle for the position. Sources close to the matter confirmed the appointment to LA NACION. Baravalle, described as having a technical profile, will now lead a secretariat previously overseen by an associate of strategist Santiago Caputo. According to sources within the Casa Rosada, Globant CEO Martín Migoya introduced Baravalle to Santilli. While Santilli now holds political control of the secretariat, the departure of Genua is reportedly linked to long-standing differences with Santilli rather than the internal government conflict between Santiago Caputo and General Secretary Karina Milei. Santilli had dismissed Genua in late July. Sources indicate Santilli will manage the area through Baravalle. Despite no longer having a direct ally at the helm, the advisor maintains a good working relationship with the Chief of Staff and plans to support Baravalle's work, particularly on strategic issues involving the United States. Baravalle is an expert in artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. She holds a doctorate in Artificial Intelligence from the American Andragogy University, a master's degree in Data Science and Knowledge Management from Universidad Austral, and is pursuing a doctorate in Engineering at the same institution.
