After a 'dream' edition, Paléo announces seven days of celebration for its 50th

Fresh off a "dreamlike" edition that drew a record eight million spectators, the Paléo festival is already preparing for its 50th anniversary. The milestone celebration, scheduled for July 19-25, 2027, will expand to seven days, a first in the festival's history. This extended format echoes a previous anniversary in 2015, which featured a performance by Robbie Williams and also ran longer than usual.

Festival director Daniel Rossellat announced the plans at the traditional closing press conference. While details of the 50th-anniversary celebration are still being finalized and will be revealed this autumn, Rossellat definitively ruled out the possibility of Céline Dion gracing the stage. The upcoming anniversary aims to honor the festival's origins, tracing back to its first iteration as the First Folk Festival in 1976.

Rossellat described it as "a bubble of happiness in a somewhat anxious context." The festival achieved a new milestone, surpassing eight million attendees. Rossellat expressed ambition, stating, "My dream is to exceed the population of Switzerland; we are getting there slowly. We are not afraid of ten million!"

The festival's success highlights its significant cultural impact and growing popularity, with organizers aiming to continuously break attendance records and expand the celebratory experience for its attendees. The move to a seven-day format for the 50th anniversary signifies a major step in its evolution.
