A walk through the festival grounds led to the narrator being assigned a container with amenities like water bottles and meal vouchers. The narrator felt a sense of de-aging in this environment, where everyone claimed to know everyone else, a physically impossible feat. People were so focused on recognition and social networking that some skipped performances entirely.
