Aguascalientes Arrests Total 224 in July, Including 71 Priority Targets

Aguascalientes authorities reported a significant number of arrests in July 2026, with a total of 224 individuals taken into custody through strategic operations. The Agency for Criminal Investigation (AIC) played a key role, apprehending nine individuals specifically linked to homicide cases and executing 215 arrest warrants for those involved in other criminal activities.

A notable aspect of the detentions is that 71 of the arrested individuals were classified as priority targets. Their capture was deemed a significant development in the state's strategies to combat impunity, given their alleged involvement in a range of illicit activities.

The state's Attorney General, Manuel Alonso García, highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination. He stated that collaboration with justice institutions in other federal entities strengthened the results achieved in July. This cooperation led to the execution of five arrest warrants in conjunction with other states and the apprehension of nine individuals sought by authorities in different regions.

Furthermore, during July, authorities conducted 42 searches, seizing firearms, 86 vehicles, and various instruments used in criminal acts. In total, 421 items connected to ongoing investigations were confiscated, underscoring the breadth of the enforcement actions undertaken during the month.
