Fajuyi, who was the Military Governor of the Western Region, was abducted alongside Aguiyi-Ironsi in Ibadan. The Aguiyi-Ironsi family highlighted Fajuyi's refusal to abandon his guest and superior officer, despite the grave danger to his own life. This act, they stated, reflected the highest ideals of loyalty, integrity, and military brotherhood. "Lt. Col.
