Air India Express says appropriate action will follow Dammam-Delhi flight security investigation

Air India Express said law enforcement agencies are investigating a security incident involving its Dammam-Delhi flight after the airline filed a complaint. The airline said it is cooperating fully and condemned any conduct that could threaten passengers, crew or flight operations.

The incident followed the discovery of a tissue paper marked "bomb" inside the aircraft's lavatory. The flight made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport on Monday as a precaution. Ahmedabad Police said all 32 passengers safely left the aircraft at Terminal 2.

We unequivocally condemn any conduct that compromises or has the potential to compromise the safety and security of our guests, crew and operations. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.

Security agencies then conducted a thorough inspection of the plane and initiated the required security procedures. An Air India Express spokesperson said the government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was alerted immediately. The aircraft would return to service only after the necessary checks were completed.

The airline said, "Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation."
