AKP Deputy's Car Involved in Fatal Accident; Son Injured

A serious traffic accident on the D-655 Düzce-Zonguldak Western Black Sea connection road has claimed one life and left two others injured. The collision occurred at an uncontrolled intersection in the Boğaziçi Osmanca locality. The vehicle driven by AKP Düzce Deputy Ercan Öztürk, 49, collided with a car operated by Metin Sarıbaş, 77. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel confirmed Sarıbaş had died at the scene. Öztürk and his 18-year-old son, Muhammed Emin Öztürk, sustained injuries and were transported to Düzce Atatürk State Hospital. Their conditions are reported as stable, and they are under observation as a precaution. Governor Mehmet Makas confirmed the deputy and his son were in good condition. "Unfortunately, the citizen on the other side involved in the accident lost their life. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and I wish them a speedy recovery. I offer my condolences to the family of the deceased citizen," Makas stated. CHP Düzce Deputy Talih Özcan, who visited Öztürk at the hospital, commented, "He had a very serious accident. There is also a loss. I offer my condolences to the family that suffered a loss. The pain is great for both sides. Get well soon, Ercan Bey and Düzce."
