Akşehir hosts Turkish Stars Folk Dance Championship

The town of Akşehir in Turkey recently served as the vibrant host for the Turkish Stars Folk Dance Championship. This significant cultural event spanned three days, bringing together around 1,000 athletes representing 35 different clubs. The championship provided a platform for these participants to showcase the rich and diverse folk dance traditions of Anatolia, fostering a sense of shared cultural heritage among both performers and spectators.

The competition featured various categories, celebrating different styles of folk dance. In the traditional regulated division, İzmir Kemalpaşa Egem Dans Halkoyunları Spor Kulübü emerged as the national champion. They were followed by İstanbul Nefestanbul Spor Kulübü in second place and Aydın Elifname Spor Kulübü securing third. The traditional unregulated category also saw fierce competition, with Kilis Halk Dansları Spor Kulübü claiming the top honor. Trabzon Taka Müzik ve Halk Oyunları Spor Kulübü secured the second position, and İzmir Menemen Sanat Akademi Spor Kulübü finished third.
