Al Ahly Defeats ZED FC 2-0 to Continue Winning Streak in Egyptian Premier League

Al Ahly achieved a hard-fought 2-0 victory against ZED FC on Friday evening at Cairo International Stadium, strengthening their position in the Egyptian Premier League. The win, part of the league's second-round fixtures, saw Al Ahly maintain their perfect start to the season.

The opening goal came in the 21st minute from Moroccan international Ashraf Ben Sharqi. After receiving a pass from Marwan Attia inside the penalty area, Ben Sharqi executed a precise ground shot that found the bottom left corner of ZED FC's net, leaving goalkeeper Ali Lotfi with no chance.

Al Ahly extended their lead in the 64th minute through Taher Mohamed Taher. Following a scramble inside the box, Taher managed to find the back of the net. The goal was initially reviewed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) before being confirmed as legitimate.

Despite attempts by ZED FC to claw back into the game, Al Ahly's defense, marshaled by goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir, held firm to secure a clean sheet. ZED FC came close to scoring before halftime when Mohamed Rabia's shot hit the crossbar, and Abdelrahman El Banouby missed a follow-up opportunity.

With this victory, Al Ahly secured three vital points, bringing their total to six points from two matches. They now sit second in the league standings, level on points with leaders Pyramids FC but trailing on goal difference. ZED FC, meanwhile, failed to find the net and remains with a single point from their opening fixtures, placing them sixteenth in the league.
