Alakija and Fadahunsi congratulate Adeleke on Osun governorship victory

Folorunso Alakija and Senator Francis Fadahunsi have congratulated Ademola Adeleke on winning a second term as governor of Osun State.

In a letter dated Sept. 3, Alakija described Adeleke’s renewed mandate as evidence of the confidence Osun residents continue to place in his leadership. She also expressed joy and gratitude to God over what she called his “resounding victory.”

Alakija, the immediate past chancellor of Osun State University in Osogbo, said Adeleke’s first-term commitment to the welfare, development and progress of Osun had not gone unnoticed. She said the re-election affirmed the work of his administration, while also placing a greater responsibility on him to serve the people.

The renewed mandate also places a responsibility on the Governor to deliver even greater service to the people of Osun.

Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East in the Senate, called the result a “well-deserved re-election.” He said Adeleke had won the confidence and electoral support of the people for a second term and prayed that the governor would build on his first-term achievements. Fadahunsi also offered support and cooperation as state stakeholders work for Osun’s peace, progress and prosperity.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner of the Aug. 15 governorship election. He secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who received 444,815 votes.
