Alessandro Gassmann Announces Second Season of Guido Guerrieri Series

Alessandro Gassmann will return to the role of criminal lawyer Guido Guerrieri, with filming for the second season set to begin in Bari in two weeks.

Gassmann announced the news on Instagram in a video featuring footage and photographs from the first season, which was adapted from Gianrico Carofiglio’s books. He will again work with director Gianluca Tavarelli and a cast that includes Ivana Lotito, Michele Venitucci, Lea Gavino, Michele Ragno, Francesco Colella, Antonia Liskova, Anita Caprioli, Umberto Sardella and Davide Mancini.

The new episodes are expected to air in prime time on Rai1 in 2027. The production comes from Rai Fiction and Rai Com, in cooperation with Bartleby Film and Combo International, with support from the Apulia Film Commission and the Puglia regional government.

The series follows Guerrieri through the workings of the modern justice system, combining an involved and ironic perspective with the pace and tension of a thriller. Venitucci plays police inspector Carmelo Tancredi, Guerrieri’s friend and ally, while Lotito returns as former investigative journalist Annapaola Doria, his trusted detective.

The returning cast also includes Antonia Liskova as Guerrieri’s new neighbor, a cello teacher who moves to Bari, and Anita Caprioli as Nadia Greco, a former client who owns the Chelsea nightclub. Lea Gavino plays Consuelo Flavia, a trainee at Guerrieri’s law firm.
