Algerian Army Chief visits Oman for strategic talks and infrastructure tours

General Saïd Chanegriha, Algeria's Chief of Staff of the People's National Army, concluded the third day of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman with strategic discussions and tours of key infrastructure. He was received by Lieutenant General Sultan Bin Muhammed Al Numani, Oman's Minister of Royal Office, and Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi.

During their meeting, General Chanegriha expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality. The discussions focused on military cooperation between the two nations' armies, which are reportedly experiencing "notable growth" due to the "high attention and constant follow-up" from the leadership of both countries and their shared commitment to further enhance these ties.

The Algerian delegation then visited the Maritime Security Center at Al Murtafa'a Camp in the Muscat Governorate. There, they received detailed explanations about the center's missions and its role in coordinating maritime security operations within Omani waters. The delegation was briefed on the mechanisms in place to counter various threats, including illegal immigration, transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking, piracy, and maritime terrorism.

Following the maritime security visit, General Chanegriha toured the Medical City of Military and Security Services. He was briefed on the professionalism and comprehensive medical services provided to military and security personnel and their families. The facility utilizes modern technologies and equipment, supported by training and development programs for its medical staff.

Both visits concluded with the exchange of symbolic gifts between the officials, underscoring the cooperative spirit between the Algerian and Omani defense sectors.
