Aliyu links Sokoto development projects to FG revenue

Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu announced on Wednesday that states are experiencing a significant increase in funding from the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu's administration. He made these remarks in Bodinga Local Government Area while launching a subsidized food sale initiative for rural residents and junior civil servants.

All the developmental projects we are executing in the state are as a result of the adequate funding we are receiving from the Federal Government.

Aliyu stated that the ability of his administration to implement developmental projects and provide palliatives, including the subsidized food sales aimed at cushioning economic hardship, is directly linked to the enhanced funding from the federal government. He assured that all ongoing developmental projects and the provision of essential commodities at affordable prices are made possible by this improved financial inflow.

Similarly, all the palliatives we have been providing to our people, including this sale of food items at subsidised rates, as well as the payment of salaries on the 18th of every month, are also as a result of the adequate funding we receive from the Federal Government.

The governor urged Sokoto residents to disregard negative campaigns against President Tinubu and to actively support his bid for re-election in 2027. Aliyu lauded Tinubu's economic policies, calling them "one of the best things to have happened to Nigeria," and pledged his administration's "total support" for the President's re-election.

Regarding security, Aliyu highlighted his administration's ongoing support for security agencies, including the recent donation of 62 armored vehicles, over 200 patrol vehicles, and 2,000 motorcycles. He stressed that tackling insecurity effectively requires collective support from residents, urging them to provide information and expose informants who aid bandits. He emphasized that security is a shared responsibility between the government, security agencies, and the populace.
