Alleged Murderer of Brugada Associates Arrested in Morelos

Jovany Santa Cruz Molina, alias “La Muñeca,” was arrested in a joint operation in the municipal market of Yautepec, Morelos. He is accused of participating in the murders of Ximena Guzmán Cuevas and José Muñoz Vega, who were close associates of Mexico City's head of government, Clara Brugada.

The arrest occurred without incident. Following the security deployment, false reports circulated about the detention of a son of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, which authorities immediately dismissed.

Authorities identify "La Muñeca" as a key figure in controlling drug sales in the northern part of Mexico City. He is also considered a close collaborator of Samuel Santos Carvajal, alias "El Chamaco," who is identified as the perpetrator of the double homicide.

The detainee was transferred to the competent authority to begin his criminal proceedings. Yautepec, a municipality governed by the Alonso family for 15 years, has recently been the site of several operations to dismantle a drug laboratory, arrest leaders of the Los Linos cartel, and now, the capture of "La Muñeca."
