Alouettes extend contracts for Maciocia and Maas

The Montreal Alouettes have rewarded general manager Danny Maciocia and head coach Jason Maas with two-year contract extensions. Maciocia is now signed through the 2031 season, while Maas will remain under contract through the 2030 campaign.

Maciocia returned as Montreal’s general manager in January 2020 and hired Maas as head coach in December 2022. The Alouettes won the 2023 Grey Cup and reached last year’s final.

Jason and I have focused on building a solid foundation, and we’re now reaping the rewards of our efforts. The next few years are shaping up to be very exciting for our football team, the city of Montreal and the entire province of Quebec.

Montreal currently owns the Canadian Football League’s best record at 9-2. The team has gone 42-22-1 in the regular season since Maciocia and Maas took charge. With one more victory, Maas would tie Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy for fourth place in franchise history with 43 regular-season wins.

“I am very proud of him,” Maciocia said in a statement, crediting Maas’s leadership, the football operations staff and the strong chemistry and work ethic established in the locker room. Montreal is scheduled to host the B.C. Lions, who are 6-5, on Friday night.
