Amazigh Activist Urges Legal Action to Uphold Language Rights

Mohammed Chami, a noted Amazigh academic and civil activist, has called on various Amazigh organizations to intensify their use of legal recourse to safeguard the constitutional status of the Amazigh language. Chami emphasized the importance of upholding Article 5 of the constitution, which designates Amazigh as an official language, alongside the provisions of regulatory law No. 26.16 that aim to implement its official status.

Chami's appeal directs Amazigh advocates to pursue judicial avenues to address practices that contravene constitutional mandates. He stressed the need for efficient and effective methods of activism to guarantee that all public institutions comply with the official recognition and implementation of the Amazigh language within the stipulated timelines.
