American Airlines cancels flights to Tel Aviv from NY's JFK Airport until at least March 2027

American Airlines has extended its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, Israel, pushing the cancellation date to at least March 2027. The route from New York's John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) has been inactive since October 2023, following the Hamas-led attacks on October 7.

An investigation into the airline's schedule reveals no one-way flights available on the route until at least March 2027, with availability potentially returning in April of that year. American Airlines is offering waivers for affected passengers, allowing for free changes or full refunds. The airline has also canceled flights to Doha, Qatar, until at least January 2027, citing regional unrest.

This extended cancellation comes after American Airlines had previously announced plans in October 2025 to resume flights to Israel in March 2026, including a route from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv. However, these operations never materialized. Meanwhile, rival US carriers Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are expected to resume their flights to Israel before the end of 2026, having operated intermittently since the October 7 attacks.
