Amusan makes Diamond League return in Zurich

Nigerian track and field stars Tobi Amusan, Ezekiel Nathaniel, and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi are set to compete at the final Diamond League meeting of the season in Zurich. This event offers athletes their last opportunity to secure qualification points for the prestigious Diamond League Final, scheduled for Brussels on September 4-5.

Amusan, the reigning world record holder in the 100m hurdles, has already secured her spot in the Brussels final. In Zurich, she will face a strong field, including American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who has been on a winning streak this season. Russell's personal best is just 0.02 seconds shy of Amusan's world record, setting the stage for a compelling showdown.

Nathaniel, currently ranked eighth in the men's 400m hurdles, will compete against formidable opponents like Karsten Warholm and Alison dos Santos. Enekwechi, ranked ninth in the Diamond League standings for his event, faces world No. 1 Leonardo Fabbri of Italy. The Zurich meeting will also feature other prominent athletes, with the global athletics calendar concluding with the Diamond League Final and the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest later in September.
