Ancelotti announces Brazil squad renewal for 2030 World Cup bid

Carlo Ancelotti has returned to Brazil and outlined his strategy for the national football team, aiming for the 2030 World Cup. The Italian coach met with the Brazilian Football Confederation's (CBF) technical commission to chart the team's future course.

Ancelotti stated that the team will begin forming a new squad, which will involve observing and evaluating young players. However, he emphasized that experienced players from the previous World Cup who still have valuable contributions to offer will not be excluded. The CBF, in a statement, cited the coach's remarks.

The meeting also covered upcoming player call-ups, the logistics for international friendlies scheduled for September and November, and planning for the 2027 South American qualifiers and the 2028 Copa América, which will be hosted in the United States. Discussions also included a review of Brazil's performance in the 2026 World Cup and strengthening the integration between the senior team and youth categories for tournaments like the U-17 World Cup and the next Olympic cycle.

Ancelotti, whose contract with the national team extends to 2030, will resume watching matches in the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil. This will help him broaden the pool of players eligible for selection for the new project.
