Ancelotti visits Real Madrid and praises Mourinho: “I’m happy he is here”

Carlo Ancelotti returned to Valdebebas in two roles: Brazil’s national-team coach and a former Real Madrid manager visiting a place where he spent many years.

The Italian met his former players and Brazilian footballers who are recovering from injuries. He also shared a public show of respect with José Mourinho, once his rival in Italian football and now back at Real Madrid.

I am here in a dual role, as coach of the Brazil national team and privately to say hello and return to a place where I spent a long time, and to meet Brazilian players who are recovering.

“I have had a good relationship with Mourinho for a long time. We exchange ideas and messages. I am happy that he is here, at this great club that is Real Madrid, and that he knows very well. He will do very well. He is a great coach and I am convinced that he will do a great job here,” Ancelotti said on the club’s official channel.

Ancelotti has won three Champions League titles with Real Madrid and, according to the report, has collected 15 trophies with the club.
