Annie Chen clarifies 15-year-old dating rumor with Will Pan

Taiwanese actress Annie Chen recently appeared on the Chinese program "Sisters Who Make Waves 7" (also known as "Sheng Feng 2026"), where she addressed a persistent rumor from 15 years ago involving singer Will Pan.

Chen, who was once under the same record label as Pan, was photographed with him in 2011. The media captured them driving together late at night and stopping at a convenience store for snacks. Given Pan was driving a limited-edition Lamborghini and the pair appeared comfortable and jovial, speculation about a romantic relationship quickly surfaced.

At the time, their agency dismissed the rumors, stating they shared a sibling-like bond. However, Chen personally clarified the situation on the show, describing the entire affair as a "complete misunderstanding."

She recounted that Will Pan had just bought a new car and enthusiastically invited her along to buy late-night snacks. "Hey, Yu Chen, let's go buy something to eat, for a late-night snack," he reportedly said. Chen agreed without much thought, only for them to be photographed by paparazzi shortly after leaving. This led to the sensationalized dating rumors that followed.

Chen's explanation elicited laughter from the show's audience and host, Xie Na, who quipped that they were "just two foodies."
