Anthropic revenue run rate tops $65 billion, signaling rapid growth

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence startup behind the Claude AI model, has achieved a remarkable revenue run rate exceeding $65 billion by the close of July. This latest financial milestone underscores the company's rapid expansion and positions it strongly ahead of a potential initial public offering later this year.

The reported revenue run rate, which extrapolates current sales to project annual performance, shows a dramatic increase from $47 billion in May and a substantial leap from approximately $9 billion recorded at the end of 2025. Anthropic shared this figure with investors as part of its ongoing financial updates.

Looking ahead, Anthropic is projecting revenues between $190 billion and $200 billion for 2028. The company's valuation for its IPO is expected to be heavily influenced by these future forecasts. Anthropic has emerged as a key player in the AI landscape, with its Claude coding agent gaining significant traction among developers, driving consistent enterprise revenue.

The AI firm confidentially filed for an IPO earlier this year, joining rival OpenAI in the race to debut on the public market amidst strong investor interest in AI companies. Anthropic's valuation reached $965 billion in May following a $65 billion Series H funding round, more than doubling its February valuation of $380 billion.
