Antisemitic threat suspect seeks court program after guns seized from home

A Rocky Hill man accused of making antisemitic threats against Connecticut lawmakers has applied for a court diversionary program that could lead to the dismissal of charges against him.

Robert Pabich, 44, filed an application for accelerated rehabilitation, a program for first-time offenders, on Tuesday. This program could result in the dismissal of charges if he meets its requirements. His application will be reviewed by adult probation, with a next court date scheduled for August 13 at the state Superior Court in New Britain.

Pabich was arrested on October 24, 2025, by Rocky Hill police. He faces charges of second-degree intimidation based on bigotry and bias, and electronic stalking. The charges stem from online comments he allegedly made on October 18, 2025, targeting state Senator Matt Lesser and other Democratic lawmakers. One comment reportedly read, "Every one of these pieces of trash needs bullets shot directly into their faces." Another allegedly stated, "Perfect example of why the Tree of Life Synagogue deserved to be fumigated. If anything, we should clean house over (redacted) as well and purge more of these Jewish communists out of our country."

Senator Matt Lesser, who is Jewish, informed police that Pabich had been targeting him with antisemitic remarks since 2022. Following the arrest, Rocky Hill police executed an "extreme risk warrant" at Pabich's home, seizing four firearms and more than 1,700 rounds of ammunition.
