Antonela Roccuzzo reveals her current reading list, from a hit romance to a fantasy trilogy

Antonela Roccuzzo surprised her followers by revealing the books currently on her reading list, including a popular sports romance and a fantasy title.

Roccuzzo, who reads in English and Spanish, shared photographs on Instagram on Monday, Sept. 7. Her nearly 42 million followers focused on a picture of her desk, where four books appeared alongside photographs of her children and husband Lionel Messi.

Her selections were Elle Kennedy’s The Deal, Colleen Hoover’s Without Merit, Holly Black’s The Cruel Prince and the Bible. The first title, which Roccuzzo is reading in English, is the opening book in Kennedy’s five-part Kiss Me series. It also inspired Off Campus, the Prime Video series that premiered in May and is filming its second season in Vancouver, Canada.

Published in 2015, The Deal is a sports romance about Garrett Graham, the star of Briar University’s ice-hockey team, and Hannah Wells, an aspiring musician. The two pretend to be a couple and eventually fall in love.

Roccuzzo’s other selections continue the focus on books by women writers. Without Merit follows Merit Voss, a young woman who collects trophies and is forced to keep the secrets of her complicated family. Her post presented a reading life centered on romance and fantasy, interests that have long featured prominently in her home library.
