Antonio Vodanovic Rules Out Return to Television: "My Time Has Passed"

Veteran Chilean television host Antonio Vodanovic has firmly stated that he has no intention of returning to television. He explained his definitive departure from the media world during a conversation with his grandson, Óscar Hasbún, on the program "Yo Me Atrevo" on Agricultura TV.

Vodanovic expressed a clear disconnect with the contemporary media environment, stating, "I don't see myself in this current world of communications." He emphasized his desire for anonymity, adding, "I've given up on the haters, I don't want approvals either, I want to be anonymous." He believes the current television landscape, dominated by "farándula" (showbiz) and influencers, is not a place where he would fit.

"I don't think I have anything to do in this new television of showbiz and influencers; it's a different time. I believe my time has passed, and that's why I live happy, at peace, and in silence," Vodanovic remarked. He also reflected on his early career and studies in Commercial Engineering. While acknowledging a past dream of creating a series about the Viña del Mar Festival, titled "Viña, la serie," he feels its history is already well-documented.

Reflecting on his long career, particularly his 18 years hosting the Viña del Mar Festival, Vodanovic expressed gratitude for the bond he built with his audience. "For many years, I had the support of the public, and that was fundamental. I believe I always respected them, and the public also respected me," he concluded.
