Aoun says political parties must help build the state, not destroy it

President Joseph Aoun used the anniversary of the declaration of Greater Lebanon to call on Lebanon’s political parties to help build the state rather than undermine it.

Aoun called for an immediate halt to conflict and a renewed commitment to national sovereignty. He also urged the rebuilding of strong state institutions as a way to revive the country’s economy and business sector.

He said those goals required “a collective return to the state,” which he described as the sole authority for all Lebanese. Aoun linked that authority to the National Pact, presenting it as an inclusive foundation that protects diversity within national unity.
