Apartment sales reach highest amount in six months

Apartment sales in Denmark reached a record high of 44.5 billion kroner during the first six months of 2026, according to new figures from Boligsiden. This marks the first time the total purchase sum has hit this level in the statistics.

The total sales amount has surpassed the previous peak recorded in the first half of 2021. However, when adjusted for inflation, the first half of 2021 still holds the record. The current high is attributed to significantly higher prices rather than an increase in the volume of transactions.

"In other words, this new high point was not created as a natural consequence of more deals. On the contrary, fewer apartments were sold than in the same period in 2021, but they were sold at significantly higher prices, which drives up the total purchase sum," said Birgit Daetz, communications director and housing economist at Boligsiden.
