APC candidate visits Tinubu after losing Osun to Adeleke

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting was disclosed by Tinubu's Special Assistant on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, who shared a video of the encounter. Oyebamiji's visit occurred days after he lost the election to the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes. Adeleke won in 19 of the state's 30 local government areas, while the APC candidate won 11. The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner on August 16.

Following the election, Tinubu had congratulated Adeleke, calling the victory a reflection of the people's will and a sign of democracy flourishing. He urged Adeleke to unite the state and focus on its development. Adeleke had previously visited Tinubu to thank him for ensuring a free and fair election and reaffirmed his support for the president's 2027 re-election bid.
