APC Chieftain Affirms Yayi as Ogun Governorship Candidate for 2027

Senator Solomon Adeola, widely known as Yayi, has been firmly established as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, according to Tolu Bankole, a member of the party's National Working Committee and a significant stakeholder in Ogun State.

Following that transparent and democratic process, the name of Senator Adeola and that of his running mate have been duly forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission as the APC candidates for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.

Bankole, who also leads the APC National for Persons with Disabilities, issued a statement in Abuja to counter what he described as misinformation aimed at sowing confusion within the party. He asserted that there has been no alteration to Adeola's candidacy, clarifying the situation two days after the APC had reaffirmed Adeola amidst a court challenge to the party's primary and a conflicting claim from another party member.

Yayi is eminently qualified by all standards to govern Ogun State. He possesses the requisite constitutional qualifications, legislative experience, administrative capacity and political will to lead our state for the next eight years.

According to Bankole, Adeola's emergence followed an APC governorship primary that adhered strictly to constitutional, electoral, and party guidelines. He emphasized that Senator Adeola and his running mate's names have been officially submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission. Bankole highlighted Adeola's qualifications, citing his constitutional eligibility, legislative experience, administrative capabilities, and political will as making him eminently suited to govern Ogun State for the next eight years.
