APC group launches two million-vote drive for Tinubu, Alli

A Nigerian support group has launched an ambitious drive to mobilize two million votes nationwide for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The primary objective of this programme is about prayer. Prayer alone cannot work. So we have to put in some effort as well.

The National Prayer Support Group for Good Governance announced its target during an interdenominational prayer summit in Ibadan. The event, attended by Islamic and Christian clerics, focused on praying for the electoral success of President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State governorship candidate Sarafadeen Alli, and other APC candidates across all levels.

So the mandate today is to mobilise within the ward, local government and at the state level to ensure that we have better participation during elections and to vote for the right candidate as has been chosen by the APC across all levels.

Abdul-Hakeem Atilade, the group's Director-General, stressed that while prayer is crucial, it must be complemented by active mobilization efforts. He stated that the group has members in all 774 local government areas and is mandated to conduct door-to-door campaigns. Atilade expressed confidence that his existing membership alone could contribute one million votes, with further mobilization efforts expected to double that figure for the APC.

By the grace of God, even within my membership alone, without even adding anybody, we’ll be able to pool one million votes.

Addressing doubts surrounding Sarafadeen Alli's governorship candidacy in Oyo State, Atilade asserted that Alli's nomination is divinely ordained and urged party members to rally behind him. He dismissed any lingering skepticism, stating that the APC national chairman's presence at Alli's campaign office unveiling in Ibadan signifies the party's endorsement. Atilade called on aggrieved members to accept the party's choice, emphasizing that God ultimately selects leaders.

So if we now say one million people are going out to at least mobilise one person, that means we are getting about two million votes for our president and for all the APC national and state legislative candidates.
