APC inaugurates Ekiti governorship campaign council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its campaign machinery for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election, signaling strong confidence in Governor Biodun Oyebanji's bid for a second term. The party inaugurated its National Campaign Council in Abuja, with APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda urging members to leverage their experience and influence to secure victory.

The Ekiti governorship election is slated for June 20, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The campaign council is headed by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and comprises a diverse group of party leaders, governors, lawmakers, and stakeholders from across the nation. Mr. Yilwatda emphasized the critical nature of this assignment for the party's electoral success and praised the council members for accepting the responsibility.

Mr. Yilwatda highlighted that the campaign team's composition reflects the APC's dedication to unity and inclusivity. He expressed certainty that the members would bolster the party's grassroots mobilization and campaign efforts. The chairman asserted that the APC is well-positioned to retain power in Ekiti, citing Governor Oyebanji's track record and the party's extensive national network as key strengths.

Praises for Governor Oyebanji's administration were abundant, with Mr. Yilwatda describing him as one of the party's most effective performers. He pointed to advancements in road construction, social intervention programs, education, and healthcare as evidence of strong governance. Mr. Yilwatda stated he had personally witnessed the positive developments, affirming that the administration is fulfilling its promises through infrastructure, social protection, educational support, and healthcare improvements. He also noted the governor's success in fostering unity and social cohesion within the state.
