APC sets May 24 for presidential primary result declaration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled Sunday, May 24, for the official collation and declaration of its presidential primary election results. The event will be held at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, commencing at 10:00 a.m.

The party's National Secretariat issued an invitation specifying that attendance is strictly limited to key stakeholders involved in the presidential primary process and other designated guests. The notice, signed by APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, includes members of the National Working Committee, National Caucus, National Executive Committee, serving APC lawmakers, Federal Executive Council members, diplomatic representatives, election observers, and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials.

Invitations also extend to selected representatives from women groups, youth organizations, persons with disabilities, media professionals, and social media influencers, aiming for broad stakeholder engagement. Accreditation for guests begins at 7:00 a.m. at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, with transportation provided to the venue. State coordinators and collation officers are expected in Abuja by Saturday evening.

The APC presidential race features incumbent President Bola Tinubu and Stanley Osifo, a trader from Edo State, competing for the party's ticket. The party has adopted a direct primary system for its 2026 presidential primary, allowing all registered party members nationwide to participate in selecting the flagbearer for the 2027 presidential election.
