APC wins campaign DG Oluwole Oke’s polling unit in Osun election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured a victory at the polling unit of its campaign director-general, Oluwole Oke, during the Osun State governorship election. At Polling Unit 018 in Obokun Local Government Area, the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, garnered 336 votes. This significantly outperformed the Accord Party's candidate, Ademola Adeleke, who received 45 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Action Democratic Party (ADP) received two and one vote, respectively, with a total of 384 valid votes cast.

Oluwole Oke, who is also a five-term member of the House of Representatives for the Ijesa North Federal Constituency, leads the APC's campaign efforts for Mr. Oyebamiji. He has been a prominent figure in the party's push against Governor Adeleke of the Accord Party and other contenders. Earlier in August, Oke had publicly criticized Governor Adeleke, describing his remarks as "reckless, inflammatory and seditious." He specifically rejected Adeleke's call for President Bola Tinubu's intervention in escalating political violence and alleged intimidation tactics preceding the election. Oke also refuted the governor's claims that the federal government was withholding funds meant for Osun State's local government areas.
