APC, Yilwatda express confidence in sweeping Gombe LG elections

Chief Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, has been honored with an Award of Excellence for his significant contributions to grassroots governance and development.

This recognition is a reflection of the enabling environment provided by Governor Dapo Abiodun, whose administration continues to encourage excellence in public service.

The recognition was bestowed during the Nigeria Public Service Lecture Series and Awards ceremony held in Abuja, which marked the observance of United Nations Public Service Day. The award followed a merit-based assessment process that included stakeholder nominations and an independent review of performance indicators, distinguishing Oyegbola-Sodipo from numerous local government chairmen across the South-West geopolitical zone.

Oyegbola-Sodipo attributed his success to the enabling environment fostered by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and the unwavering commitment to development shown by Senator Solomon Adeola. "This recognition is a reflection of the enabling environment provided by Governor Dapo Abiodun, whose administration continues to encourage excellence in public service," he stated.

I didn’t see this coming, but my strong belief is that whatever opportunity you are given in life should be deployed to advance the betterment of the people. That is how we can close the gaps and take this nation to greater heights.

He expressed surprise at the award but affirmed it would further motivate him to serve the people more diligently. "With this award, I am more encouraged to do a lot more for the people at the grassroots. We will not lose focus; our eyes will remain on the ball, and we shall continue to do all that is within our sphere of influence to complement the efforts of both the state and Federal Government and ensure that life becomes more meaningful for rural dwellers," Oyegbola-Sodipo said. He also commended the residents and workers of Abeokuta North Local Government for their support and cooperation, which he acknowledged as crucial to his administration's achievements.
