Apple boosts iPhone trade-in values, with iPhone 16 Pro seeing largest increase

Apple enthusiasts looking to upgrade their iPhones have reason to celebrate as the company has significantly adjusted its trade-in program, boosting the value of many older models. This move is particularly beneficial for those eyeing the latest iPhone releases, offering a more attractive incentive to trade in their current devices.

The most substantial increase in trade-in value is for the iPhone 16 Pro, which has seen its value rise by NT$1,700, potentially reaching NT$21,800. Following closely are the iPhone 16 Pro Max, up by NT$1,600 to a maximum of NT$25,200, and the iPhone 16, which increased by NT$1,300, offering a maximum trade-in value of NT$15,900. In total, 20 out of 30 models included in the program have seen their recycling prices rise.

In contrast, the iPhone 12 mini is the sole model experiencing a price drop, with its trade-in value decreasing by NT$200. This decline reflects the shrinking market demand for smaller-sized smartphones in recent years. The overall upward trend in trade-in values for many models might also be linked to the increasing costs of components like memory, which in turn elevates the market value of second-hand iPhones.

It is important for consumers to note that the prices listed on Apple's official website represent the maximum possible trade-in amount.
