Apple CEO: Price hikes inevitable amid soaring memory chip costs for AI

Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the tech giant will be forced to raise prices for its products, citing the escalating costs of memory chips. This decision comes as the global demand for AI data centers intensifies, creating a significant strain on the available capacity of memory chips and consequently driving up their prices.

"Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable," Cook told The Wall Street Journal. He explained that Apple can no longer shield its customers from the rising component costs as it has done in the past. While Cook did not provide details on the timing, extent, or specific products affected by the price hikes, the company is expected to unveil its new iPhone generation in the fall.
