Arab Israeli man shot dead in northern Israel as Arab sector death toll reaches 158 this year

A 20-year-old Arab Israeli man, Ayman Jaramna, was shot and killed in Muqeible in northern Israel early Thursday morning, according to Israeli media reports. Paramedics treated him for multiple gunshot wounds at the scene before he was evacuated to HaEmek Hospital in Afula, where he was pronounced dead.

This shooting follows another fatal incident on Wednesday, where a 57-year-old resident of Tira was shot dead in Tayibe. Police are investigating the circumstances, with initial reports suggesting the victim was found shot inside his vehicle. Investigators believe this killing may be linked to an ongoing blood feud. The victim's partner, Susan Abd al-Qader Bashara, a social activist, was also killed in a similar manner about 18 months prior.

These two killings underscore a severe crime wave within Israel's Arab community. Since the beginning of the year, 158 people have been murdered in the Arab sector, according to reports. Police have yet to release further details regarding the investigation into Jaramna's death.
