Arab nations, regional organizations condemn attempted drone attack on Saudi oil facilities

A coalition of Arab nations and regional organizations has voiced strong condemnation following an attempted drone attack targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region. The Muslim World League (MWL) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) were among the entities that issued statements reaffirming their solidarity with the Kingdom. They pledged support for Saudi Arabia's measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability. The MWL specifically denounced continued attacks by Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq against Saudi Arabia, including the recent attempt on the Eastern Region's oil infrastructure. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, characterized the assaults as treacherous criminal acts. He emphasized that these actions violate religious values, as well as international and humanitarian laws and norms. Al-Issa, speaking on behalf of the MWL's global councils, bodies, institutions, and the Muslim peoples it represents, reiterated unwavering support for Saudi Arabia and any actions it deems necessary for its defense.
