Argentina weather forecast: Drastic shift from polar cold to high temperatures expected

The recent weekend saw winter-like temperatures across much of Argentina, with some regions experiencing lows below 0°C. However, a change began on Monday as winds shifted northward, drawing warmer air towards the country's center. This shift is expected to cause temperatures to climb, with a marked increase anticipated by Tuesday afternoon, when highs could reach 20°C in central areas, accompanied by increased humidity.

This warm spell, however, is a prelude to another change. By Thursday, a new cold front is forecast to move in, bringing strong storms and showers to the northeastern Buenos Aires region. This will halt the current thermal ascent and usher in cooler conditions. The week is expected to conclude with a more stable Friday, featuring partly cloudy skies, a low of 12°C, and a high of 16°C.

The SMN has issued recommendations to help the public stay protected and minimize inconvenience during these fluctuating weather patterns. The forecast suggests a dynamic week ahead for Argentina, influenced by the active phase of El Niño.
