Argentine footballer Lucas Trejo has shared a deeply emotional message recalling the devastating loss of his wife and two children in a double earthquake that struck Venezuela one month ago. Trejo, who resides in Venezuela, described the tragedy as the "worst moment" of his life.

A month ago, I had to live the worst moment of my life, the only thing that terrified me was losing my family.

In a letter published on his social media, Trejo recounted the horrific experience of searching through a completely collapsed building for his wife, Yanina, and their children, Aaron and Ainhoa. He described the moment he found them, knowing they had already passed away, as the most terrifying experience of his existence. Despite the immense grief, he held onto hope and faith during the arduous search.

Trejo's wife and children were found five days after the earthquake, on June 29. He expressed profound gratitude to the rescuers and loved ones who supported him during the initial 72 hours following the disaster, stating their presence was crucial in helping him endure the immense pain. "Never left me alone, never was I alone, truly thank you," he wrote.

When the third day began, I decided to gather them and pray for a miracle. That's how I choose to live, with faith, even in the worst circumstances.

Despite the unfathomable loss, Trejo affirmed his dedication to continuing the project he and his family started in Venezuela. This initiative aims to share their faith with others. "As a family, we planted ourselves in that land so that people would know Christ, and today I can tell you: their lives will not be in vain. What we started with my wife Yanina and my children Aaron and Ainhoa, will continue, because God's purpose in that nation will be fulfilled," he declared.
