Argentine Retirees to See 1.89% Pension Increase in August 2026

Argentine retirees and pensioners are set to receive a 1.89% increase in their benefits in August 2026. This automatic adjustment is based on the inflation rate recorded in June, which stood at 1.9%. The calculation uses inflation percentages with two decimal places to determine the precise updated amount.

For August, the minimum pension will be adjusted to $419,775.92, with an additional $70,000 bonus, bringing the total to $489,775.92. Maximum pensions will be $2,824,694.50 without a bonus. Holders of the Universal Pension for the Elderly (PUAM) will receive $335,820.74 plus the $70,000 bonus, totaling $405,820.74. Non-contributory pensions (PNC) for invalidity or old age will be $293,843.14, also with the $70,000 bonus, amounting to $363,843.14.

The update affects the minimum pension amount, contributory pension benefits managed by Anses (National Social Security Administration), the PUAM, and various non-contributory pensions, including those for mothers of seven or more children, and other special pensions.

The extraordinary bonus of $70,000 has been consistent for over two years. It is directly deposited with the pension payments and is mainly intended for individuals receiving the minimum pension or non-contributory pensions and PUAM. For beneficiaries whose pensions exceed the minimum, the bonus is prorated, ensuring the total received does not surpass $489,775.92.
