Asake Partners Spotify for One-Night-Only Performance of M$NEY in London

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake delivered an exclusive, invite-only performance of his chart-topping album M$NEY at London's historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Sunday. The special event, presented in partnership with Spotify, was attended by friends, family, and hundreds of Asake's top listeners on the streaming platform.

This marked the first live rendition of M$NEY since its release on May 4. Asake performed tracks from the album accompanied by a live orchestra, creating a unique theatre setting. The show also included the debut of four unreleased songs, performed live for the first time. The entire concert was filmed and is slated for release as a concert film on Spotify in the coming days.

The album M$NEY, described as a "bold meditation on gratitude, prosperity, spirituality, and ambition," showcases Asake's signature blend of Afrobeats rhythms, melodic innovation, and Yoruba-inspired storytelling. Since its release, the album has topped streaming charts in over 19 countries, including Nigeria, and reached No. 8 in the United States. This success has positioned Asake as the No. 15 digital artist globally, according to Kworb Data.

Asake, a two-time Grammy-nominated artist, is renowned for fusing fújì, Afropop, and amapiano sounds with Yoruba storytelling. His previous works, including the debut album Mr Money With the Vibe and subsequent releases like Work of Art and Lungu Boy, have achieved significant commercial success. Lungu Boy holds the record for the longest-running No. 1 album in Nigerian chart history and is among the most-streamed Nigerian albums worldwide. Asake's 2024 Lungu Boy World Tour saw sold-out performances at major venues like Madison Square Garden and The O2 Arena, underscoring his global appeal. He has received Grammy nominations for Best African Music Performance for his songs "Amapiano" and "MMS."
