Asian Games Judo: Encouraged by Lin Chen-ling, Lin Tzu-han aims to "smile all day" and enjoy competition

Taiwanese judoka Lin Tzu-han is setting her sights on the Nagoya Asian Games, aiming to "smile from morning till night" and secure a medal for Taiwan. This renewed determination comes after encouragement from fellow judoka Lin Chen-ling, known as the "Queen of Judo."

Lin achieved a significant personal milestone by winning a bronze medal in the 48kg category at the Tokyo Grand Slam late last year. This success has provided a strong confidence boost. Her coach, Liu Wen-chung, also affirms her capabilities, emphasizing the need for stable mental focus during crucial moments.

To overcome mental hurdles, Lin Tzu-han tells herself to "just play and have fun" before stepping onto the mat. She feels she has been enjoying competitions more recently. During a training camp in Japan, she received encouragement from Lin Chen-ling, who is based there. This support has inspired her to approach the upcoming Asian Games with a smile and embrace the joy of competition.

Following the Asian Games judo events on September 30, Lin Tzu-han will immediately head to Azerbaijan for the World Judo Championships. Despite the demanding schedule of major competitions back-to-back, she states her current focus is solely on the Asian Games, ensuring she is fully prepared. She acknowledges the physical challenge but is not dwelling on future events, prioritizing her immediate goal.
