Astrologer Yen-chi Tang mourns loss of beloved 15-year-old cat to sudden blood clot

Yen-chi Tang, a prominent Taiwanese astrologer and media personality, known as 'Guoshi,' is mourning the sudden death of her cherished cat, Mi-jiang, who passed away after a rapid decline due to a blood clot. The 15-year-old feline companion had been a significant part of Tang's life for over a decade.

Tang shared the heartbreaking news, recounting that Mi-jiang was eating and affectionate just hours before its health took a drastic turn. The cat suddenly experienced severe vomiting and paralysis in its lower body, prompting Tang to rush it to an emergency veterinary clinic. After examinations, including X-rays and ultrasounds, veterinarians diagnosed a blood clot, and the cat underwent hyperbaric oxygen therapy, but its condition continued to worsen.

Reflecting on Mi-jiang's final moments, Tang described a feeling of farewell as the cat gazed at her in the hospital. Shortly after she left the room, the cat's condition became critical due to blocked blood flow, leading to discoloration and a drop in body temperature. The veterinarian conveyed that the situation was not optimistic.

Mi-jiang passed away at 4:55 AM the following morning, less than 12 hours after falling ill. Tang expressed her profound grief, stating, "I went from a happy person with a cat to a lonely person without a cat." She found solace in the belief that Mi-jiang seemed to have waited until she returned home before falling ill and departed swiftly, avoiding prolonged suffering. Tang has since completed the funeral rites and brought Mi-jiang's ashes home, bidding a tearful farewell to her beloved companion.
