At Least 12 Hurt in Queens Fire That Engulfs Multiple Buildings

A devastating fire erupted in Flushing, Queens, on Saturday, injuring at least 12 people and spreading rapidly through multiple buildings. The blaze, which reportedly started on the first floor of a home on 41st Road near College Point Boulevard, quickly escalated to a five-alarm fire by noon.

Emergency responders, including eight firefighters, two EMTs, and two civilians, sustained injuries while battling the intense flames. One civilian suffered serious injuries, and five firefighters experienced moderate to serious harm. All injured individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

As of early afternoon, the fire remained uncontrolled. Fire officials are expected to provide further details at a press conference later in the day. Residents in the vicinity were advised to close their windows due to smoke exposure, and significant road closures and traffic delays were anticipated in the area. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
