At the Botanical Garden: An enchanted journey for the whole family

The Carlos Thays Botanical Garden in Buenos Aires has transformed into an enchanted realm with "Maravillosa Alicia," an immersive nighttime experience running until August 16. Inspired by Lewis Carroll's classic "Alice in Wonderland," the event guides visitors through twelve stations spread across the garden's paths.

Through luminous installations, expansive sets, soundscapes, and interactive features, the experience brings beloved characters and settings from the book to life. Visitors will encounter elements like the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts' garden, and a chess match, all recreated within the magical atmosphere of the garden.

Adding a technological layer, visitors can interact with ALI, a guide accessible via WhatsApp, eliminating the need for app downloads. ALI provides additional content, challenges, and narrative elements. The project also includes AlicIA, an artificial intelligence system designed to enhance interaction with the story's universe. The experience is designed for diverse audiences, with a digital guide for adults and young people, and a specially adapted mode for children.

Accessibility is a key focus, with content available in Argentine Sign Language (LSA), pictogram signage, and a design that avoids strobe lights and sudden sounds. The event utilizes energy-efficient LED lighting, self-supporting structures that do not damage the ground, and sustainable materials. This type of immersive outdoor event is gaining popularity globally, with similar experiences in botanical gardens in London, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Melbourne, positioning Buenos Aires within this international circuit of nature, art, and technology fusions.
