Atiku mourns Rhodes-Vivour’s mother, prays for family

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has offered his condolences to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Lagos State governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour.

In a message shared on Monday, Abubakar expressed his deep sadness over the loss. He described the late Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour as the "beloved mother" of the ADC governorship candidate and offered prayers for her eternal rest. "I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, beloved mother of the ADC Governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour," Abubakar stated.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour had announced his mother's death on his X handle, remembering her as "a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother" and "the epitome of love." A statement from his brother, Olawale Rhodes-Vivour, on behalf of the family, described the late matriarch as a woman whose love and kindness shaped those around her. The family stated, "Though she is gone from our sight, she is never gone from our hearts."
